Alicia

Alicia Simons is an experienced CF- L2 Coach with over 6 years of working with both beginners and advanced athletes around the country.  She is a New Jersey native and enjoys spending her free time outside or playing with her daughter Hazel and rescue pup, Angus.  She is a full time nutrition nerd and has her Bachelors of Science in Nutrition.  Her favorite movements include box jumps, cleans, and chest to bar pullups.

Gene

Gene is a longtime veteran of East Lansing CrossFit. When he’s not coaching or taking the 4:30 class, you’ll find him bowling, camping, or enjoying the outdoors. He loves our little gym unconditionally and it most certainly shows. His favorite movements include pistol squats and rope climbs.

Abby

Growing up, Abby always played sports. Shortly after she graduated high school she joined a CrossFit gym and feel in love with the sport of fitness. After only a year in college, she decided to get her personal trainer certification through ACE to continue her education in health and fitness. And only a year after that, she received her Level 1 and became a coach at ELCF. Health and fitness has always been a passion of hers and she can’t imagine being anything other than a coach. “being an athlete of life is a close second, the gym is my home away from home”.  Abby recently graduated MSU with Bachelor Degrees in both Nutritional Science and Kinesiology.  Her favorite movements include cleans, burpees, squats, and any kind of unilateral movements.

Karl

Born and Raised in Michigan, Karl moved to the Lansing area in 2011 and took his first CrossFit class in 2013. He hasn’t looked back since and continues to enjoy every opportunity he has to be in the gym. Outside of the box, he is an attorney and lives in Okemos with his beautiful wife Brooke, 1 and a half year old son, and two dogs. His favorite movements are any of the classic Olympic lifts, rowing, and deadlifts.

Mel

Mel started CrossFit in 2011 and has truly loved all the ways it has impacted her life. From physical health, to mental health, to camaraderie and community spirit, she “loves CrossFit because of the amazing people I’ve met and that have become my family”. Sharing that joy with others is why she became a coach. At home she loves hanging out with her husband Scott, baby Ash, and rescue pup Saphira. Her favorite movements include rowing and Deadlifts.
